Another unexpected discovery

Flickr group "The BIG Jigsaw Puzzle Collection" has become my source of information for the discovery of large rare or unknown puzzles. As I said several times, the user silberfuchs64 has compiled a list of all known puzzles 5,000 pieces or more. And many users help to complete, with ancient puzzles that we discover.

And this is the case, a puzzle of 6,000 pieces of japanese brand Tenyo, and so far we did not know of its existence.

The image of the puzzle (Mickey and Minnie Mouse) is not usual in puzzles for adults, and especially for a big puzzle, but I think it has its charm.
The puzzle appeared recently at an auction of a page of Japanese sales, and few data are known; It comes in 4 bags and seems to originate from the 1980s or early '90s.
Dimensions, 168x120 are really great for a puzzle of 6000 pieces, and more for a Japanese puzzle (only surpassed by the map of Central Hobby with 219x102)
The Japanese title is "ク リ ス タ ル な 想 い 出," which google translates as "Crystal of memories" in English or "Cristal de recuerdos" in Spanish.
The reference number is 6000 980 D.

Soon I will add it to the list, and I will generate the corresponding record.

New Clementoni 6000: Again "The Castle"

Yes, you read that right, another puzzle of the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. In this case Clementoni and 6000 pieces.

At least they have changed the point of view of the image and show us another perspective of the castle in the sunrise or sunset.

Soon I will add it to the list, and I will generate the corresponding record.

More information about the new 40,000 Ravensburger

If you want to be the first to have the puzzle and you have 399 euros to spend, you can already book it at amazon.de.

According to the information displayed on that page, it seems that Ravensburger will change its policy and this time will indicate in the box the exact number of pieces, so this will be a 40,320 piece and not a 40,000 pieces, as we all expected.

They also appear on amazon, images of each of the 10 panels of the puzzle. Click here to go amazon.de and see them. I leave here too, just in case the item disappear in a future. Click on the images to see a larger size.

Getting to know details of the new 40,000 Ravensburger

Although there is no official release date, are becoming known data of the "new world's largest puzzle".

A few days ago I came across a picture of a catalog that appeared some facts of the puzzle.

According to the image, the initially introduced motive is manteined, although Ravensburger said that the motive was not definitive.
The dimensions are 680 x 192 cms. That is, it has the same height as the 32,000 pieces puzzles edited some years ago. As for the long ... who does not have at home a wall of 7 meters long with no doors or windows to expose the puzzle?
The exact number of pieces is 40,320 pieces.
And the box is 90 x 40 x 25 cms. I don't know if it comes with wheels or not, but certainly with almost a meter long, it doesn't fit anywhere.
And the reference number is, # 17826 1. Luckily Ravens have decided not to repeat numbers, as if it has happened with the new 9000.

So far the certain data. But from them we can speculate and try to figure out the rest.
If Ravensburger continues the trend of previous years, and it seems that yes, the puzzle will come in 10 bags of 4032 pieces, each with a Disney scene. The pattern most likely be the same for the two previous 32,000, therefore talking about a pattern of 28 rows by 36 columns, repeated 4 times vertically and 10 times horizontally (4x10).
Ultimately the cut is the same as in the 32000, by adding a section.

As for the motive of the puzzle ... Personally I like more the puzzles that are not divided into sections, such as "Life", but it is undeniable that this one, despite being divided into 10 very clear sections, has its appeal, simply because they represent some of the most iconic films of Disney.

You can see all the data on the appropriate record, "Unforgettable Moments Disney".

"Family", new 6000 from Grow

Added a new puzzle to the list.
I'm talling about the 6000 pieces from Grow, with the same size and format of the previous 6000 from Grow (called Vatican).

The artist of the puzzle is Romero Britto, a brazilian painter and sculptor. He combines elements of stereotypical cubism, pop art and graffiti painting in his work. He currently lives in Miami, Florida, where you can see his work in many parts of the city. If you like the picture, but scares the number of pieces, Grow has several puzzles with the works of Romero Brittos and fewer pieces.

For now, there are few data of the puzzle, is only published that measures 105 x 155 cms. A normal size for a 6000, so we anticipate that the size of the pieces will be normal, and not as in the 8000 Grow, which are mini.
The box has a common sizes in large Grow puzzles, 38,0x38,0x8,0 cm. And although not published, we can estimate a similar weight to the other 6000 puzzle from Grow (2,226 g) .

Now you can buy on the web shop of Grow, let's see who is the first to get it and tells us about it!!!!

This is one of the best documented puzzles, and if you are interested in knowing details about it, please visit World Largest Puzzle. Although, as we have said, the name has become obsolete and is no longer "World Largest".
